Mining

Since the inception of the mining practice, Brons & Salas has played an active role rendering legal advice to leading companies as well as public agencies. It has also participated in the negotiation process of the Argentine-Chilean Mining Treaty. Brons & Salas has experience in the exploration and exploitation of traditional metal-bearing substances and of new commodities for industrial use.

The mining practice area covers advice to operation companies, service providers and suppliers of the industry, among others, including:

• Contracts and agreements. Implementation of public-private partnership agreements between private-sector companies and the Government for the development of new projects.
• Project financing and furnishing of guarantees.
• Dealing with legal aspects related to social licenses.
• Management and approval of environmental impact studies and other permits required to explore and/or operate mines.
